Each year, USTB-DMU Confucius Institute selected around 20 students to attend the annual Summer School at USTB in Beijing. Students at De Montfort University who have completed 20 hours’ Mandarin classes are eligible to apply for the Summer School.
USTB provides board and lodging for the DMU students. They attend intensive training of Chinese language at USTB. They have opportunities to interact with Chinese students there. Culture trips to scenic spots such as the Great Wall, the Summer Palace are also organized so that DMU students could experience Chinese culture first-hand.
