Each year, USTB-DMU Confucius Institute celebrate Spring Festival with students and staff at De Montfort University, students in local schools as well as members of the public from across Leicestershire. Various performances including singing, dances, musical instruments, fashion shows and so on are delivered by CI teachers and volunteers. On the Chinese New Year Eve 2020, CI organized a live streaming of CCTV Spring Festival Gala and invited DMU students and staff to join CI in the countdown of the Lunar New Year. The Confucius Institute, together with DMU, BID Leicester and Cosmopolitan Arts, delivered a Spring Festival procession including parade of dragon and lion dances from DMU to Leicester city center on 26 Jan. 2020.
