USTB Releases Commemoration Video of USTB-RWTH 40th Anniversary Partnership

On January 10, USTB officially released the commemoration video of the 40th anniversary of the USTB-RWTH Aachen University partnership to the university website. The video first debuted on September 21, 2019, before an assembled crowd of USTB and RWTH representatives where it received a warm reception and was officially released on October 5, 2019. The video highlights the history of collaboration between the two universities, starting in 1979 when USTB and RWTH officially signed a partnership agreement. This historical agreement was one of the first international partnerships between a Chinese and foreign university during the ‘reform and opening-up’ period of China’s history.
In addition to chronicling the history of the partnership, the video highlights interviews of various significant individuals who have worked to ensure the success of the on-going collaborative efforts. These notables include Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, Prof. Ulrich Rudiger, Rector of RWTH, Prof. WANG Weicai, Vice President of USTB and alumnus of RWTH, Prof. YANG Tianjun, former President of USTB and alumnus of RWTH, Prof. XU Jinwu, former President of USTB and alumnus of RWTH, Prof. Reiner Kopp, former Vice Rector of RWTH, Prof. Wolfgang Bleck, former Vice Rector of RWTH, Prof. Dieter Senk, RWTH, Prof. NI Ruiming, professor of USTB and alumnus of RWTH, Prof. LU Shouli, professor of USTB and alumnus of RWTH, and Prof. BAO Yanping, professor of USTB and visiting scholar at RWTH.
The commemoration video was produced by the Office of International Affairs and Department of Public Affairs & Communications, USTB, included a variety of historical documents, photos, and other materials to highlight the exciting history of collaboration between USTB and RWTH.
