From August 29 to 30, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, led a team to the Shaling gold mine of the Laizhou Huijin Mining Company, China National Gold Group Co., Ltd, which is a demonstration project of the “key technologies for the construction and upgrading of deep metal mines”, a national key R&D project.

During the inspection, Prof. YANG was introduced to the overall design and construction progress of the project, before then visiting the information-based construction dispatch center, and then inspected the preparation of the construction equipment for mining ultra-deep wells. Accompanied by Mr. YUAN Yongzhong, Chairman of the Huijin Company, Mr. LI Honghui, researcher of the JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd, and Mr. JI Hongguang, the project leader, Prof. YANG personally went deep into the excavation face of the Shaling auxiliary shaft, a depth of 1200m, to carry out a field investigation.
On August 29, Mr. YU Ning, Secretary of the Laizhou Municipal Party Committee, Mr. LI Yonggang, Mayor, Mr. SHAO Yuming, Organization Minister, and other major local leaders met with Prof. YANG and his team. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on local economic development, professional personnel training, resource development, environmental protection and other topics, and reached a number of agreements on making full use of the advantages of USTB in helping the industrial transformation of Laizhou through personnel training and improving both scientific and technological services.

On August 30, accompanied by Mr. WANG Chenglong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Business Department and CEO of Yantai Mining of the Shandong Gold Group Co., Ltd, and Mr. DU Yunlong, director of the Sanshandao Gold Mine, Prof. YANG and his team visited the comprehensive dispatch center, mineral processing workshop and intelligent central control station, as well as the on-site operations of the unmanned section of the Sanshandao gold mine. Additionally, they conducted in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation, accelerating the transformation of scientific research achievements, strengthening personnel training, and building a world-class mine.
