Mr. DU Kewei, Director of CCIPE Leads Delegation to USTB

On the afternoon of June 5th, Mr. DU Kewei, Director of the CCIPE, Mr. YANG Xiaochun and Ms. XIA Juan, Associate Directors of the CCIPE, visited USTB. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, and leaders of relevant departments participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. XUE Qingguo, Vice Chancellor and Vice President of USTB.
Mr. WU Guilong expressed a warm welcome on behalf of USTB to the delegation from the CCIPE and gave an introduction on the overall situation of USTB. He spoke of how the university was working to study and implement the spirit of President XI Jinping’s reply to the Pakistani students of USTB. The visit of Mr. DU Kewei’s delegation to USTB reflected the concern and kindness of the CCIPE for USTB, and he gave his assurance that the university would further improve its political work. With the support and guidance of the CCIPE, the university will promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, make use of the university’s own advantages and characteristics to make new contributions to the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the building of a community for the shared future of mankind.
Mr. DU introduced the basic situation of the CCIPE from three aspects: its development concept, platform construction and work measures. He highly praised USTB’s achievements and experience in international cooperation and exchanges, and education of international students. He stated that he would strengthen support for the university in exchange program training, project cooperation, building partnerships, and promoting the establishment of close, long-term and sustainable cooperative development relationships.
During the meeting, Prof. FENG Qiang, Director of the Office of International Affairs, USTB, introduced the situation of international cooperation and exchanges and the education of foreign students in recent years. The leaders of relevant departments from the two sides then conducted in-depth exchanges on future cooperation.
