Three Academicians of USTB Win the 13th Five-Year Technology Achievement Award of Iron and Steel Industry

On July 31, the opening ceremony of the 13th Five-Year Technology Achievement Exhibition of China’s Iron and Steel Industry was held in Jiangsu. Prof. XIE Jianxin, Prof. MAO Xinping and Prof. ZHANG Yue, three Academicians of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of USTB, were awarded the 13th Five-Year Technology Achievement Award of Iron and Steel Industry.
Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, many national talents have worked to fulfill their duties, be brave in practice and pursue innovation, and have played an active role in the scientific and technological progress of Chinese industry during the 13th Five-Year term. Among them, as leaders in industry and outstanding representatives of innovators in science and technology, the Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering play an outsized role in the realization of the first-class development of the steel industry as well as in providing strong support for industries with international competitive advantage. “Nine Academicians, including Prof.. WANG Yunmin, MAO Xinping, LIU Zhengdong, LI Wei, ZHANG Yue, SHAO Anlin, YUE Qingrui, TANG Lixin and XIE Jianxin, were awarded the 13th Five-Year Technology Achievement Award of Iron and Steel Industry".
