The "New Oriental Cup" ——the 14th Foreign Language Dubbing Invitational Competition of Capital Universities and the 19th Foreign Language Film Dubbing Contest of USTB were successfully held in the faculty auditorium.
First of all, Prof. CHEN Hongwei highly affirmed the high-quality of the contest and expressed her ardent expectations for the future development of the dubbing contest and the School of Foreign Studies. Finally, she encouraged students to improve their foreign language skills, feel the charm of foreign language learning, enhance humanistic atmosphere of the school, and enrich extracurricular cultural activities through dubbing.
Then, the dubbing contest officially began, divided into two rounds. The first round is the competition of "Transliteration Classics, Performing Legends", 12 groups of contestants will dub the clips they choose to show.
As the representative of the judges, Associate Prof. LIU Dongyao, from Department of German Language and Literature, commented on the performance of each contestants. From on her own experience, she affirms the hard work of the contestants and wishes the dubbing contest to be better and better.
In the end, the "YMX Team" from Capital Normal University won the grand prize; the “Laughing to death, we know nothing about dubbing” Team and the "Schrodinger's Sloth Team" from University of Science and Technology Beijing won the first prize; "Sherlock 201 Team" from Beijing Institute of Technology, "PAW Patrol Team" from Beijing University of Science and Technology and Beijing Jiaotong University, "Six Lemons Team" from Beijing Institute of Technology, and "AlcoholicChocolate Team" from University of Science and Technology Beijing won the second prize; "Oingo and Boingo Sisters Team" and "Purple Potato and Ginger Bumping Milk Team" from University of Science and Technology Beijing, "Knowing Sheep Team" from University of Science and Technology Beijing and Beijing Language and Culture University, "Tokyo Central Bank Beijing Branch Team" from Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University and the "Amazing Tujia Team" from Beijing Institute of Technology won the third prize. The best male and female dubber awards were won by XUE Feng and LIU Xinyu from University of Science and Technology Beijing.
