Professor WANG Rongming Competitively Selected as a National Talent of the “Hundred, Thousand and Ten-Thousand Talents Project”

Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security released the list of the 2019 “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project”. Prof. WANG Rongming, USTB, was bestowed the title “Young and Middle-aged Expert with Great Contributions”.
Prof. WANG is a professor and at USTB, Associate Dean of the Institute of Integrated Innovation, director of the Beijing Key Laboratory for Magneto-Photoelectrical Composite and Interface Science, research team leader at the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering, Session Editor of the Journal of Physics D-Applied Physics , and executive council member of the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS). His areas of research expertise are in magnetic nanomaterials, transmission electron microscopy and interface science.
Prof. WANG has undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, and Beijing authorities. He has written 2 academic monographs and over 200 papers in journals such as Phys. Rev. Lett. , Adv. Mater. , J. Am. Chem. Soc. , Angew . Chim. Int. Edit. , and Nano Lett . His papers have been cited over 7,000 times with a H-index of 48. He has won various awards including the second prize of the State Natural Science Award, the Scientific Chinese Figures 2018, experts with special allowances by State Council , the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Materials Research Society, and Excellent Supervisor of Doctoral Dissertations in Beijing.
The “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project” is a national talent program jointly carried out by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Finance of the PRC, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). According to the implementation plan released in 2012, the Project’s goal is to select 4,000 national candidates in 10 years, those being high-level young and middle-aged pioneering talents who stand at the frontier of science and technology, and who lead and support cutting-edge developments in national major technology advancement and other key areas. 18 experts from USTB have been competitively selected for the Project.
