President Wang Yideng of the Asian Institute of Technology Leads Delegation to USTB

On October 18th, President Wang Yideng of the Asian Institute of Technology led a delegation to USTB and was met by President of USTB, Professor Yang Renshu. Also present at the meeting were Professor Li Zifu of the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering, and deputy directors of the Office of International Affairs, Professor Ban Xiaojuan and Ms. Li Bei.
At the start of the meeting President Yang warmly welcomed the visiting delegation, after which President Wang introduced the current development of the Asian Institute of Technology and its future plans. He discussed the Institute in terms of four aspects including innovation, entrepreneurship, internationalization and industry relationships. President Wang then concluded by expressing his hope that through discussion both his university and USTB might find opportunities for future cooperative efforts.
Following that President Yang then introduced the current development of USTB and its efforts towards building partnerships with international universities in three aspects: talent training, faculty development and international cooperation. He then returned President Wang’s sentiment that he hoped the two universities could work together, especially in activities including joint scientific research and talent exchange programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting Professor Dieter Trau of the Asian Institute of Technology gave a presentation on the status of his cooperative work with Professor Li Zifu.
