University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Palace Museum and Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology held a signing ceremony for the framework agreement of scientific research cooperation at the Sanxingdui archaeological excavation base in Guanghan, Sichuan province. Mr. Wang Yi, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Director of the Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics, Ms. Zhao Guoying, Deputy Director of the Palace Museum; Mr. Yu Ziyong, Director of the Department of Cultural and Preservation Science and Technology; Mr. Tang Fei, President of the Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and Mr. Chen Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology; Prof.. Qian Wei, President of the Institute of History of Science and Cultural Heritage and Prof. Chen Kunlong, Vice President of the Institute of History of Science and Cultural Heritage attended the signing ceremony, which was presided over by Mr. Chen Weidong.
Ms. Zhao Guoying expressed in her speech that the signing of the cooperation agreement at the archaeological excavation site of the world-renowned Sanxingdui Site is a concrete measure of the signing of the three parties to actively serve the strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative and promote the deep integration of culture as well as science and technology.
Prof. Qian Wei briefly introduced the basic information of the discipline of the history of science and technology in USTB and reviewed the history of cooperation with Sichuan cultural institutions. He expected the three parties to cooperate in various forms on major projects such as the ancient Shu civilization protection and inheritance project and the archaeology of the Southern Silk Road, so as to provide a solid support for the protection and utilization of archaeology and cultural relics through first-class discipline construction and scientific research.
Mr. Tang welcomed the arrival of the teams from the Palace Museum and the University of Science and Technology Beijing, and introduced the preliminary results of the recent trilateral cooperative research.
In the presence of Mr. Wang Yi and Ms. Zhao Guoying, Mr. Yu Ziyong, Mr. Tang Fei and Prof. Qian Wei signed the Framework Agreement on Scientific Research Cooperation on behalf of the three parties. According to the agreement, the three parties will deepen cooperation in scientific research, personnel training and academic exchanges, with the help of the national Palace Museum and science and technology department of cultural relics protection technology joint laboratory "area", promoting the deepened integration of the cultural relics, intellectual resources and advantage platform, and facilitating rapid and healthy development of archaeological objects in Sichuan province, achieve the common enhancement of three parties.
