USTB Holds Lecture on Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

On the afternoon of November 23th, an event sponsored by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Beijing 2022) was held at USTB. The event was themed “Devote Passion to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games”,where a lecture was given by a team from the media and communications department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for Beijing 2022. The lecture was held in the Auditorium & Staff Activity Hall of USTB and was attended by Prof. ZANG Yong, Vice President of USTB, Prof. YU Chengwen, Deputy Director of Department of Public Affairs & Communications and Director of the Department of Faculty Affairs and Secretary General of the Party Committee, School of Foreign Studies, Mr. SHENG Jiawei, Director of the Department of Student Affairs and Director of the People's Armed Forces Department, Mrs. WANG Li, Secretary General of the Communist Youth League Committee.

Mr. CHEN Bo introducing preparations for Beijing 2022
Mr. CHEN Bo, a member of the media and communications department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for Beijing 2022, began with an exciting video about the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, introduced China's efforts to prepare for the Beijing 2022 in an accessible and engaging way, and then presented the current progress of the venue to the teachers and students of USTB.
Mr. GUO Luyang, a postgraduate student from Beijing Sports University, told the story behind the "Eight Minutes in Beijing" between Changping, Beijing and Pyeongchang, Korea. Mr. HAO Tao, a teacher from the Huimin Primary School in Dongcheng District of Beijing, shared a story about the Dongsi Olympic Community with the audience. LI Hongji, a worker from the Shougang Group, told a story about his transformation from a worker of the Shougang Group to a security guard at the Beijing Organizing Committee for Beijing 2022. Mr. HOU Kun, an Olympic Culture promoter, shared his experience as the first person in the world to complete the Olympic Journey around the world. Ms. GUO Dandan, a world champion in aerial freestyle skiing, gave a moving speech of her life with ice and snow, and told the audience her motto of "born to ski and fight for the country".

After the event, audience members signed their names and wrote down their thoughts on the scroll, expressing their longing and expectation for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
