USTB and UGTC Sign Strategic Cooperative Framework Agreement

On the afternoon of June 4, 2020, USTB and China United Gas Turbine Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “UGTC”) signed a strategic cooperative framework agreement in Beijing. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, Prof. XIE Jianxin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. WU Aixiang, Vice President of USTB, Mr. SHU Guogang, Assistant to the General Manager of the State Power Investment Corporation, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of UGTC, as well as additional USTB & UGTC leadership attended the signing ceremony. Prof. WU Aixiang and Mr. ZHANG Xiaoyi, a Deputy General Manager of UGTC, signed the strategic cooperative framework agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
The signing of this strategic cooperative framework agreement is based on the close cooperation between the two sides in the field of heavy-duty gas turbine material research and development. It seeks to further deepen cooperation between the two sides based on the pursuit of collaborative innovation and development, realizing key technological breakthroughs, carrying out the implementation of the national strategy, and achieving cooperation by making use of complementary advantages, resource sharing, and the integration of industry and academics, all for mutual benefit and ensuring a win-win result. Both sides will give full play to their respective strengths and carry out all-round, wide-ranging and in-depth strategic cooperation in scientific and technological research and development, personnel training, platform construction and technological exchange.
Before the signing of the contract, leaders from both sides held cordial talks, giving assurances that they would give full play to the strengths of their respective institutions, promote the implementation of the strategic cooperative framework agreement, continue to deepen and expand bilateral cooperative efforts, and jointly promote the smooth implementation of their work.
Leaders of the relevant departments of UGTC, departments heads and professors of the Office of the Party, Office of the President, Office of Strategic Planning, Department of Human Resources, Graduate School, Department of Science and Technology, Office of International Affairs, School of Materials Science and Engineering and other relevant units of USTB attended the signing ceremony.
