Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, Leads Delegation to China First Heavy Industries to Sign a Cooperation Agreement

On November 12, Prof.YANG Renshu, President of USTB, and Prof. HE Minqing, Vice-President of USTB, visited China First Heavy Industries (CFHI) to sign a strategic cooperation agreement and tour the facilities. Mr. LIU Mingzhong, Chairman and Chancellor of CFHI, alumnus of USTB, Mr. ZHANG Zhenrong, Vice Chancellor and Chairman of CFHI, Mr. JIANG Jinshui, Mr. GUAN Yongchang, and other deputy general managers of the company received Prof. YANG and his team.
On the morning of the 12th, Mr. LIU and Mr. ZHANG accompanied Prof. YANG and his team to the CFHI Exhibition Hall. There they saw exhibits including: the military digital workshop, the heavy equipment manufacturing plant, the rolling power manufacturing plant, the nuclear power plant and the hydraulic press production site.
Before the signing ceremony, the leaders of both sides also attended the closing ceremony of CFHI's fourth training course for young talents.
On the afternoon of the 12th, the assembled leaders carried out an in-depth exchange on deepening industry-university-research group collaboration and personnel training.
During the discussion, Mr. LIU thanked USTB for providing strong support for the training of a large number of talents for CFHI over the years, and briefly introduced the basic situation of the enterprise, including its reform and development, instances of scientific and technological innovation, its vision for personnel training and prospects for bilateral cooperation. Mr. LIU said that he hoped the two sides would further strengthen mutual exchanges and expand their cooperative efforts. At the same time, he said, both sides could carry out collaborative activities in personnel training and joint research, working together to promote cooperation and innovation between universities and enterprises. He concluded by saying that both sides should work hand-in-hand to secure major national contracts, promote technological innovation, and contribute to safeguarding national economic, defense and industrial security.
Prof. YANG thanked CFHI for its support in discipline construction, scientific and technological innovation and personnel training over the years, and briefly introduced the development of USTB and its various undertakings and collaboration with enterprises. He said that for many years USTB and CFHI have maintained friendly and profound cooperative relations, and he hoped that the two sides would further strengthen mutual exchanges, carry out in-depth cooperation in scientific research, personnel training, and engage in further team building efforts. This he hoped would result in realizing greater cooperation between universities and enterprises for each side’s mutual gain.
Afterwards, Mr. ZHANG and Prof. HE signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the fields of joint scientific research, the implementation of research achievements and personnel training.
