The event, jointly organized by Madani Boys School and the Confucius Institute at DMU (DMU CI), featured a range of Chinese cultural activities and dozens of DMU student volunteers and more than ten teachers from the Confucius Institute attended the activity which was marked by a lively and engaging atmosphere.
One of the highlights was the Chinese calligraphy workshop. Teachers from the Confucius Institute patiently introduced the students to the Four Treasures of the Study (brush, ink, paper, and inkstone), proper brush-holding techniques, and the structure of Chinese characters. The hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the intricacies and beauty of Chinese calligraphy.
In addition to calligraphy, students also participated in plate painting and paper cutting activities, showcasing their creativity and ingenuity. These activities not only enhanced the students' practical skills but also deepened their appreciation for the elegance of traditional Chinese arts.
Traditional games like Gobang and shuttlecock kicking were met with enthusiastic participation. Students strategized during Gobang matches and enjoyed the physical challenge of kicking shuttlecocks. These games promoted teamwork, concentration, and strategic thinking. Teachers from Madani Boys School expressed their enthusiasm for incorporating similar extracurricular activities into their school programs.
