USTB Signs Cooperation Agreement with GRINM

On July 21st, the framework agreement signing ceremony between USTB and the GRINM Group Corporation Limited (GRINM Group) was held in the Nonferrous Metals New Materials High-tech Park. Mr. WU Guilong, chancellor of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu, president of USTB, Prof. ZHANG Yue, academician of CAS, Prof. WU Aixiang, vice president of USTB, Mr. ZHAO Xiaocheng, party secretary and chairman of GRINM, Mr. XIONG Baiqing, general manager of GRINM, Mr. WANG Cheng and Mr. ZHOU Qigang, vice general managers of GRINM attended the ceremony. On behalf of two sides, Prof. YANG and MR. XIONG signed the agreement while Mr. ZHOU hosted the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Mr. WU Guilong expressed his gratitude to GRINM for their great support of USTB and his appreciation of GRINM's sense of national responsibility. GRINM has devoted itself to core technologies of nonferrous metals and has achieved great success in breaking through industrial bottlenecks, removing barriers for scientific research as well as producing transformative scientific achievements. The framework agreement will ensure further cooperation on scientific research projects, the pursuit of scientific achievements, and ensure closer communication on industrial development, platform construction, team building, and talent cultivation. Together the two institutions will create a new innovative model of university-enterprise cooperation to achieve win-win results for both sides and power the development of China’s new materials industry.
On behalf of GRINM, Mr. ZHAO Xiaochen welcomed Mr. WU Guilong, Prof. YANG Renshu, and the other attendees. He then reviewed the fruitful achievements of USTB-GRINM cooperation in nonferrous metals, new energy materials, resources and environment, and talent cultivation. He hoped that the two sides would grasp the opportunity to give full play to their strengths in platform innovation, scientific research project, outcome transformation, talent cultivation, and cross-discipline innovation. USTB and GRINM should focus on collaboration in major fields and work to build a coordinated platform for government-enterprise-university research. Through cooperation, both sides will make efforts to tackle core technical issues and transform research achievements into practical results, promoting the integrative development of technology and industry.
Looking forward, USTB and GRINM will work together to implement the framework agreement through close communication and coordination, and carry out research in key fields. The partners are committed to making a great contribution to the R&D and industrialization of nonferrous metals technology and the economic growth of China.

Before the ceremony, Mr. WU Guilong and Prof. YANG Renshu visited GRINM’s intelligent sensing national key laboratory, certification production line of battery material testing, medium experimental production line of nonferrous metal R&D, medium experimental production line of power battery innovation center, and enterprise exhibition hall.
