USTB Signs Cooperation Agreement with Baosteel Resources

Prof. WU, Aixiang, Vice President of USTB, was invited to the inaugural meeting of China Baowu Mining Professional Committee and Baosteel Resources' First Science and Technology Conference. As the only university representative, USTB signed an industry university research cooperation agreement with Baosteel Resources, a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group.
On behalf of USTB, Prof. Wu expressed his gratitude towards China Baowu and Baosteel Resources for their support of USTB, and congratulated the conference for being a complete success. In the future of this cooperation, he said, USTB would utilize its advantages in iron and steel metallurgy, mining resources and other key fields to tackle the related key technologies so as to serve China's carbon peak goal and carbon neutral vision while fulfilling the requirement of China Baowu and boosting its high-quality development.
A special exchange meeting between USTB and Baosteel Resources was held. Prof. WU, Aixiang and three other scholars from the School of Civil and Resources Engineering, USTB, namely Prof. Song, Weidong, Prof. Li, Guoqing and associate professor Kou, Jue, respectively gave a technology briefing at the meeting and had in-depth and detailed discussions with participants. They addressed issues of paste filling in green mining of metal mines, stability control of rock and backfill in deep mining, intelligent technology and practice of metal mine, and clean and efficient utilization of refractory iron ore.
In attendance of the meeting were over 100 participants including China Baowu delegation led by its Deputy General Manager, Mr. Guo Bin, and experts from Baosteel Resources, and USTB delegation from the Department of Science and Technology, School of Civil and Resources Engineering.
