Mr. SHU Huisheng, Vice President of Donghua University, and Ms. ZHANG Kejing, Dean of College of Humanities of DHU led a delegation of five to visit USTB. They conducted special investigations of the Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology and discussed the subject of cooperation regarding the history of science and technology. Prof. WANG Weicai, Vice President of USTB and leaders of the Institute attended the discussion. The symposium was presided over by Prof. QIAN Wei, Dean of the Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology.
On behalf of USTB, Prof. WANG welcomed the delegation and introduced the development of the school’s various undertakings in recent years. He reviewed the development process, achievements and experiences gained over the years on the subject of the history of science and technology, hoping to further promote bilateral exchanges in the fields of talent training and discipline construction by exchanging subject experiences.
Mr. SHU expressed his gratitude to USTB for its warm reception and said that both Donghua University and USTB have a glorious history and can achieve a “balanced combination between hard and soft materials” in the field of their respective advantageous fields ---- the history of textile science and technology and the history of metallurgical science and technology. He hoped that through this investigation and exchange, the two sides will further strengthen cooperation and promote the development of the science and technology history of both sides.
Prof. QIAN Wei made a brief introduction on the situation of the Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology and Ms. ZHANG Kejing introduced basic information on the College of Humanities of DHU, they discussed future cooperative research, academic exchanges and other related matters and reached preliminary intentions, Prof. YANG Xiaoming, Prof. DENG Kehui from Donghua University, Prof. ZHANG Meifang from USTB and other participants conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the advantages of both sides, development plans and cooperation opportunities.
After the meeting, Mr. SHU Huisheng and his team visited the school’s science and technology history laboratory.
