USTB and China Minmetals Sign Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement

On October 22th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) and China Minmetals Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “China Minmetals”) was held in Beijing Minmetals Plaza. The attendees included Mr. TANG Fuping, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals Corporation, Mr. LIU Caiming and Mr. WANG Shilei, deputy general managers of China Minmetals, Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, and Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB. Prof. YANG Renshu and Mr. WANG Shilei signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of their respective sides,. Mr. LIU Caiming presided over the ceremony.

Representatives from the two met for an exchange before ceremony. On behalf of China Minmetals, Mr. TANG Fuping expressed his warm welcome to those from USTB. He then listed the achievements made through cooperation between the two sides over the years. He hoped that the signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement would be an opportunity to engage in cooperative scientific research and talent training, so as to display tangible results, shared resources, and innovative development through multi-disciplinary integration. USTB and China Minmetals will continue to expand into new cooperative areas, enhance overall cooperation, create new opportunities to share resources, and establish a close and comprehensive partnership.
Mr. WU Guilong
On behalf of USTB, Mr. WU Guilong expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its support and help in promoting discipline construction over the years. He hoped that USTB and China Minmetals would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation to serve industrial and social development. By targeting major national strategic needs, key problems, common technologies in the industry, and shortcomings in basic scientific research, the two sides will make full use of their respective technological and disciplinary advantages to achieve greater innovations. It is hoped that the two sides will walk hand in hand, complementing each other’s strengths, and promote new methods of integration of both production and education as well as science and education.
Prof. YANG Renshu and Mr. WANG Shilei Sign Cooperative Agreement
In the near future, USTB and China Minmetals will establish more stable communication and coordination mechanisms in accordance with the strategic cooperation framework agreement, and carry out all-round and in-depth cooperation around scientific research and development, talent cultivation, discipline co-construction, academic exchanges, and resource sharing.
